A very different Marathon Race…

During September, 3 members of DEF-UK joined other runners from the wider DEF Network to participate in the French Marathon des Châteaux du Médoc that attracts representation from more than 50 nations.

It is famous for being considered “the longest Marathon in the world” due to the 23 wine and cheese tasting stops along the route.

The event is extremely well organised with many bands playing along the route and 2,800 support volunteers distributing the food and drink along the route.

The hot weather in Bordeaux made the running conditions difficult but it was a very enjoyable experience for all those took part in a very different marathon race…
